Dehradun: In Uttarakhand, several stalwarts of the state are seen standing on the decisive mode of politics in the election summer of the 5th Assembly. Whether it is former CM Harish Rawat or Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj. Among the veterans, some are preparing to enter the summer once again, and some are standing outside and struggling with their political future in the 2002 election summer. The ruling BJP youth leadership in the same state has now entered the polls with the slogan of 'Over 60s.' BJP's plan to contest on a young face can be understood as it is also eyeing the youth vote bank in the state. But BJP's young Uttarakhand, young CM's slogan has put the party's elderly leaders to sleep. Political experts say the 2022 election summer is going to be decisive for the political careers of many BJP stalwarts.

Several leaders in the age group of 60 and above are in the race for tickets in this election. Many of these veterans have even crossed the age standards in the party. But in their constituency, they are heavily influenced by experience and influence on other contenders. Their strong form is to get tickets in every situation. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Cabinet Ministers Harak Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal and Ganesh Joshi have crossed 60 years and are planning to contest the elections. The same political experts say that by betting on the young face, the BJP has made it clear whether the responsibility of the organisation will be in the hands of older leaders or in the hands of young faces. A lot will depend on the election results also. However, a senior party leader says that the 21st century BJP's responsibility is going to come on the shoulders of the youth.

The responsibility of crossing the Congress line this time in the same assembly election summer rests largely on the shoulders of leaders who have crossed the age of 60. While Harish Rawat himself is in charge of the Election Campaign Committee, he seems to be challenging the youth even at the age of 78. More than 40 leaders have contested the Congress this time too. This election is going to be across the border for many at this age stage.

More than 60 plus veterans are likely to contest more than half of the assembly elections in the Congress party.
