New Delhi: There is always a special place for a spinner in the Indian team. There has not been much right-arm spinner in India, who registered his presence in the Indian team for a long time. Something similar happened with right-arm spinner Shivlala Yadav, who gave a memorable performance in his 8-year career. Shivlal Yadav turned 63 on Sunday.
As a spinner, Shivlal may not have been a bowler who has given too much rotation to the ball, but he has given some great performances for Team India. Shivlal's most memorable performance was the Sittany Test against Australia in 1985-86, in which he took 8 wickets for 118 runs, putting 43 maidens in 95.3 overs and tied the hosts batsmen in a magnificent manner.
Shivlal has also been a big name in the Indian cricket administration. It was a result of his clear image that the top court removed the then BCCI president N Srinivasan due to corruption in the IPL in 2014, when Shivlal was appointed the interim chairman. Let us tell you that in his very first Test, Shivlal registered his presence in India's great spin era by taking 7 wickets against Australia.
