The story of Sathya Sai Baba is unique in itself. He used to call himself an incarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi and before leaving the world, he had even told when he would return to earth next time. The people who came under his influence were also strong people of society. From politics to the sports and film world, he used to get those who considered him as a guru. In these, from former PM Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh to Sachin Tendulkar also considered him as a guru. He was born on November 23, 1926, in Puttaparthi village in Andhra Pradesh. His full name was Satyanarayana Raju. He reportedly lived like a normal child for 13 years, but once he was fainted for a long time due to the bite of a poisonous scorpion, he changed completely since he regained consciousness. After regaining consciousness, he began to speak Sanskrit fluently, which he had not known before.
Within a year, he is said to have declared himself an incarnation of Shirdi's Sai Baba. He always called Sai Baba of Shirdi 'his former body'. Sai Baba of Shirdi had also performed a lot of miracles. But Sathya Sai baba was also not far behind in performing miracles to his devotees. He also tried to prove many of his miracles to a magical trick. Satya Sai Baba is also known for his sense of service. In the 20th century, when Andhra Pradesh was hit by a terrible famine, Satyasai Baba arranged water for 750 villages. Baba did many services works in the social field along with spiritual teachings. He described human service as the best religion. It started with the construction of a small hospital in Puttaparthi, which has now become the 220-bed Super Speciality Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences.
Sai Baba passed away on April 24, 1911. He was hospitalized for a month before that. Even before that, he had predicted to return to earth with another body. Today, his property is looked after and worked by the Satyasai Central Trust. He was also accused of many charges during his lifetime, but that could never be proved. It is claimed that the next incarnation of Sai Baba will land again on earth between 2023 and 2025 and will be the last incarnation of Shirdi's Sai Baba.
