The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, is celebrating his birthday today. Ram Nath Kovind turns 76 today. The present President of the country has a close relationship with UP. From birth, upbringing to education. He stayed in UP. President Kovind was born on this day on October 1, 1945, at Parunkh village near Kanpur in UP. His wife's name is Savita Kovind. 

Ram Nath Kovind settled in Kanpur after his early education in Parunkh. He completed his B.com degree from Kanpur University here. He then received an MBA and LLB degree from Kanpur University. He had also passed the (UPSC) examination in a third attempt. After completing his advocacy studies, he started practising in the Delhi High Court. He was a Central Government lawyer in the Delhi High Court from 1977 to 1979.

This is how the political career began: Ram Nath Kovind joined the BJP in 1991.  Elected to the Rajya Sabha from UP in 1994. He was a Member of the Rajya Sabha for 12 consecutive years. He was also the national spokesperson of the BJP. He was appointed governor of Bihar on August 8, 2015. Ram Nath Kovind was declared the presidential candidate of India on June 19, 2017. Sworn in as the 15th President of India on 25 July 2017.
