World Senior Citizen's Day: Know why this day is celebrated

Today World Senior Citizens Day is being celebrated all over the world. But the question is why there was a need to celebrate this day? They see their future in the dark, there is insecurity and fear, while there is endless pain in their heart.

This day is organized to liberate the elderly from these tragic and scary situations. The ways of celebrating this day can be different around the world, but the main purpose of all is to not forget the contribution of elders and not let them feel lonely. Our country gives the status of God to the elderly. There are many examples in the history in which incarnate men like Lord Shri Ram, after the orders of his parents, spent time in the forests after renouncing the throne, the mother-father devotee Shravan Kumar made his blind parents sit in Kavad and took them to Chardham. After having such a rich heritage then why in modern society is the gap widening between the parents and their children.

Today's ageing society is compelled to remain disconnected from the family and is generally the most saddened that despite having a lot of experience in life, no one wants to seek their advice or give importance to their opinion. Our elders are forced to live a sad, neglected and tragic life. To give what they deserve is the need today. We must respect our elders as they are the roots of the family tree and they must be protected and cared as much as we can.
