Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) has adopted two tuberculosis patients from Kra Daadi District as part of the Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA). During his first visit to the district, the Governor interacted with one of the adopted patients in Tali on Monday.

During his visit, the Governor reviewed various developmental programs and schemes in Tali, located about 90 km from the district headquarters in Palin. He committed to providing monthly food baskets for his adopted patients and encouraged them to consume nutritious food while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Governor urged the community, especially affluent individuals and social activists, to adopt TB patients and contribute towards making India tuberculosis-free. He reminded everyone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal to eliminate TB in India by 2025, five years ahead of the global target.

Additionally, he called on health officials to conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns to educate TB patients about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. He emphasized the need for community engagement to spread awareness about the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and encouraged government officials to motivate public participation.

During his visit to Pipsorang and Tali, the most remote areas in Kra Daadi District, Governor Parnaik engaged with local villagers, fostering direct dialogue with the community. He was accompanied by State Minister of Land Management and Civil Aviation Balo Raja, along with local MLA Jikke Tako.

At a public meeting in Pipsorang, the Governor discussed the Vibrant Village Programme initiated by Prime Minister Modi, aimed at bringing development to remote border villages. He expressed that development in these areas would lead to reverse migration, enhancing border security.

The Governor highlighted the importance of health, education, infrastructure, and tourism for the socio-economic development of remote villages. He mentioned the government's efforts to reach villagers through programs like Ayushman Bharat and Seva Aapke Dwar, and suggested using drones for delivering medicines to isolated areas.

While reviewing development projects in the district, he emphasized the need to strengthen health, education, infrastructure, and tourism sectors. The Governor stated that district hospitals should have at least four basic specialists and that essential medicines must be readily available in health centers.

Concerned about education in rural areas, he advised education officials to focus on dropouts and promote reading by establishing libraries. He also discussed the potential of tourism for socio-economic growth, suggesting the Bhutanese Model of Tourism to foster entrepreneurship among youth.

The Governor encouraged officials to leverage technology for better project planning and execution. He stressed the importance of data computerization for assessing needs and improving project management. Successful implementation of the Vibrant Village Programme was highlighted as crucial for reversing migration and ensuring progress in border areas.
