Arunachal logs 76 new Covid cases, No deaths in last 24 hours

According to a senior Health Department official, the COVID-19 total in Arunachal Pradesh increased to 63,890 on Friday after 76 more people tested positive for the disease. The official claimed that 20 new cases were recorded from the Capital Complex Region, eight from Lower Subansiri, seven from Lohit, five from East Siang, and three each from East Kameng, Leparada, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai, and Tawang districts.

According to State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa, 62,619 persons have recovered from the disease in the state so far, including 229 on Thursday. The State's death toll has remained at 293, with no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. According to the SSO, there are now 978 active COVID-19 cases in the  state. He added the recovery rate among patients increased to 98.01 percent from 97.77 percent the day before.

According to Jampa, 64 new cases were found using a fast antigen test and six each using RT-PCR and TrueNAT methods, with 34 of them developing COVID-19 symptoms. 

The Capital Complex Region, which includes the Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli, and Banderdewa, has the most active cases with 260, followed by Lower Subansiri with 186, Tawang with 78, West Kameng with 60, and Lohit with 59. Jampa added that a total of 12,53,354 samples have been tested for the infection across the State so far, including 981 on Thursday, with the positive rate dropping to 7.74 percent from 7.95 percent the day before.

So far, 16,03,229 people have been vaccinated according to State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung. At least 60,768 people aged 15 to 18 years old were vaccinated, and  20,202 senior citizens received the booster dose.
