Indian Army truck falls into ditch, one jawan died

Siang: A number of cases have been reported from the country for some time now, meanwhile, an Army soldier was killed and four others seriously injured when a truck fell into a ditch in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning due to bad weather conditions. Officials said the army vehicle carrying 11 personnel was on its way from a transit camp in Miging to the tuting military camp in the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tuting Starlie Jamoh said the truck fell into a ditch between Pango and Tuting at around 7:10am on the hilly road. He quoted army sources as saying that one soldier of the 4th Sikh Light Infantry Regiment was killed on the spot and several other soldiers were injured in the accident. He said four of the injured soldiers are in critical condition.

Starlie Jamoh said four seriously injured soldiers were evacuated from an army helicopter. One of them has been admitted to Dinjan Army Base Hospital in Tinsukia district of Assam while the other three personnel were taken to Army Base Hospital in Guwahati. He said six soldiers sustained minor injuries and have been sent to Tuting by road. It may be noted that monsoon has hit many states. At present, heavy rain is taking place in hilly areas. Due to this rain, the trains moving localpeople there are facing a lot of problems.
