Amritsar: Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for apologising to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Bikram Singh Majithia. CM Channi has described Kejriwal as "absconding." Addressing a press conference, CM Channi said, 'AAP says I am pretending. While Arvind Kejriwal gave an 'apology' in court and said sorry to Bikram Singh Majithia and fled, he is an absconding person.'
CM Channi further said that AAP cannot take a stand on the drug issue, even 10 of his MLAs left him as he could not take a stand on the drug issue. In particular, years ago, Kejriwal withdrew his charge against Majithia, who was involved in the drug trade and submitted a written apology to the court during the trial of the criminal defamation case filed against two other AAP leaders. Cm Channi, on the basis of a 2018 report submitted by the Anti-Drug Special Task Force (STF), referred to the recent FIR registered against Majithia under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, saying there could be a link between the two.
CM Channi said, 'We have started an investigation against the drug mafia. A case was registered in the Mohali court and then a blast took place in Ludhiana court. I think it could be a link between them. It is under investigation.' Channi said six others were injured in the court bomb blast. He also alleged that Akali leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who recently joined the BJP, had entered into an agreement between Kejriwal and Majithia after which Kejriwal filed a written apology in the Amritsar court. CM Kejriwal had attacked the captain that the captain was also favouring Majithia and once called Majithia a Balungada (kitten). Now the cat with the kitten has also come out.
