According to Government officials, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that he will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Janata Dal (Secular) leader H D Kumaraswamy as a chief minister of Karnataka.

The official spokesperson during an interview said that CM Arvind Kejriwal will attend HD Kumarswamy’s oath taking ceremony. He further said that CM Kejriwal has been invited by former prime minister H D Deve Gowda.

Today, Kumaraswamy is visiting the national capital to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He will also meet party’s senior leader Sonia Gandhi for a discussion on allocation of ministerial shakedowns.

Earlier on Saturday, BS Yeddyurappa had stepped down as the chief minister of Karnataka. He took this step without facing the floor test in the state Assembly as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fell short of numbers. Following to this Kumaraswamy met state Governor Vajubhai Vala, and said he had been requested to form the government, reports Hindustan Times.

The May 12-Karnataka Assembly polls threw up a suspended assembly, with the BJP appearing as the single-largest party with 104 seats.

Meanwhile, After receiving notably defeat in Karnataka assembly polls 2018, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Monday appeared in press conference. In his address, he said that Karnataka result is an anti-Congress mandate.
