After making millions of his fans across the country, Tamil superstar Arvind Swamy had to leave the movie industry to take over his family business and after some time when he agreed to come back to films, he became a victim of a terrible accident. In that accident, his legs were paralyzed due to a deep injury in his spine. It took him a long time to recover from this injury.

In an interview, Arvind had said that he did not want to become an actor but a doctor. But my father wanted me to take over his business. Arvind had started modeling for pocket money during his college days. After  which Mani Ratnam saw him in an ad and was invited for the meeting. Mani Ratnam and Santosh Sivan together taught him the nuances of movie and acting and the first break was also given by Mani Ratnam.

In a media interview, he was asked that after coming to such heights, it was right to take such a sudden break like this. He said he was the only boy at home. His father was a businessman and under his pressure he had to take this step. Arvind had worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. Later, in Hindi cinema also, he received a lot of love from the audience. In 1991, Arvind made his acting debut in Mani Ratnam's movie Thalapathy. After which in 1992, he appeared in the film 'Roja' with Madhu.

Talking about Arvind's Bollywood career, he made his Bollywood debut in 1998 with the movie 'Saat Rang Ke Sapne'. His apostasy in the movie  was Juhi Chawla. The movie didn't do anything special. Along with which Arvind Swami also worked with Manisha Koirala and Kajol. In 2016, he also appeared in Dear Dad, but later his career in Bollywood did not last long.
