After the release of the trailer of 'The Diary of West Bengal', director Sanoj Mishra has been summoned by the Kolkata Police. He says that an attempt is also being made to tarnish the image of the state chief minister with this movie. In this summons, the police have asked him to appear for questioning by May 30. A complaint in this regard has been filed at Amherst Street Police Station on May 11, 2023. Along with this, a legal notice has been sent to Sanoj Mishra under Section 41A of the CrPC. A case has been registered under sections 120B, 153A, 501, 504, 505, 295A of the IPC, 66D/88B of the IT Act and Section 7 of the Cinematography Act.
In the notice, director Sanoj Mishra has been told that it is necessary to meet the additional officer in-charge of the police station before May 30. Reacting to this legal notice, the director has said that the film is fact-based. He also expressed concern that the Bengal police might take him into custody and arrest him and kill him in jail. But they want to tell that their intention is not to stain the image of the state at all.
Sanoj Mishra (Director) received legal notice against film 'Diary Of West Bengal', produced by Jitendra Narayan Singh. The trailer looks way too straight forward.

I have done a lot of research. The whole film is based on facts. Once I go to West Bengal, I will not come back. I am being falsely implicated in the case. They have implicated me in such sections as if I am a criminal or a terrorist. However, I have completed all the necessary preparations for the movie, which is scheduled to release by August. I have to see that the film is released. ”

After the trailer of the film, the complaint has come because it was shown that this illegal infiltration is supported by the state government. The trailer also mentions the incident of 2013 when the houses of 200 Hindus were set on fire. Along with this, it was also shown how Mamata Banerjee is against the implementation of CAA and NRC in the state.
