Kabul: The Taliban have captured Afghanistan and the situation here is now alarming. Efforts are on to evacuate the stranded Indians here. Now, in the same episode, 85 Indians are returning home by C-130J Indian air force aircraft. Yes, under the recent information, the fuel flight landed in Tajikistan and is now coming to Delhi from Kabul. Earlier last Tuesday, about 130 people had returned to India. These included Indian nationals, journalists, diplomats, other embassy staff, and Indian security personnel.

Let me tell you that due to congestion at Kabul airport, the flight of aircraft was stopped and the Air Force was given a mission to bring them all safely. Let us also tell you that after seeing the situation in Afghanistan at present, the Indian side is working to evacuate its people. So far, officials working in the embassy have been evacuated, but a large number of people are still stranded in Afghanistan.

So far, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has made special arrangements to bring back the stranded people in Afghanistan and a Special Afghanistan Cell has also been prepared. You must be aware that on the evening of 16th August, the Ministry of External Affairs constituted a Special Afghanistan Cell, whose mission was to monitor the constant demand for help from Afghanistan. The first plan was to evacuate Indians stranded in Afghanistan.
