Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath made a big statement on Tuesday regarding the 'population imbalance.' Now in response to this, AIMIM Chief and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi have said that the people of the Muslim community use the most contraceptive i.e. contraception. Owaisi said ''Even his (Yogi government's) Health Minister has said that there is no place for any law to control population in the country. Muslims are using contraception the most at the moment. In 2016, the fertility rate in the country was 2.6, which has now come down to 2.3. The population balance in India is one of the best in the world.''

In fact, on the occasion of World Population Day on Monday, the United Nations (UN) had released a report saying that in 2023, India will become the world's most populous country by overtaking China. After this, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said ''It should not happen that the speed or percentage of increasing the population of any one community should be more and we reduce the body of the original residents of that area through law and information.''

In response to this, AIMIM chief Owaisi said ''Are the Muslims not the natives of India? If we look at the truth, then the original inhabitants of this place are only tribal and Dravidian people. In Uttar Pradesh, the fertility rate that has been set can be achieved between 2026 and 2030 without any legislation.''
