Jaipur: Denying any leadership crisis in the Congress party, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said on Monday that Rahul Gandhi is still the party's captain and will continue in the future. Talking to the press at the party headquarters here, Gehlot said, "Rahul Gandhi is the captain of the party and will continue to do so. I said the same thing during a demonstration at the party office here last month."

Ashok Gehlot refused to comment on Rahul Gandhi's decision to appoint a new Chairperson of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) after he stepped down as chairman. Rahul Gandhi made his resignation public last month. Supporting Rahul Gandhi, Gehlot said, "He has the guts to beat the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Gehlot said, "Whoever attains the height, falls one day and the same thing will happen to the BJP. The BJP has achieved the heights, but now if they do not fulfill the electoral promises made by them, the people will soon be neglecting them and whatever decision will be the decision it will be accepted."
