The report was sought by the Home Ministry in the phone tapping case which was causing political tussle in Rajasthan. Three days later, Rajasthan Government has summoned the reply on Tuesday. Officers of the Home Department, ATS and Police Headquarters have prepared this special report. In the reply sent to the centre, it was told that the state government has no role in phone tapping. The Home Secretary did not allow any phone tapping.

Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department are unaware of the phone tapping case. The Home Secretary did not approve of phone tapping. The Home Secretary is also not aware that phone tapping took place. In the reply sent to the Union Home Ministry, it has been told that in phone tapping, the government maintains the entire process. The police tape the phone only after taking permission from the Home Secretary.

The Union Home Ministry had sought information from the state government on more than ten points on this matter. After the audio clip about the purchase of MLA went viral, questions were raised about phone tapping on the state government. After which the Ministry of Home Affairs issued summons to the Chief Secretary and sought his response. It was said in the summons that the ministry has received the complaint. According to which tapping Sanjay Jain's phone has been done going against the rules. It was also asked that according to what rules the phone taping was done. Jain was considered a trader in this audio case and is still in custody.
