Mumbai: Former Maharashtra CM and state BJP state president Devendra Fadnavis is celebrating his 50th birthday today. He is an Indian politician. He made a distinct identity among the public even after his father inherited politics. The father of former CM Fadnavis has also been a member of the State Legislative Council. Fadnavis is a law graduate, besides studying business management. He was an active member of ABVP during his college days. It is said that Fadnavis is close to PM Narendra Modi. During the election campaign in Nagpur, Modi had praised Fadnavis fiercely. Even before the elections, slogans of 'Narendra in Delhi and Devendra in Maharashtra' trended.

Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis was born on 22 July 1970 in Nagpur. His father, Gangadhar Fadnavis, served as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council from Nagpur. Fadnavis is a descendant of the Kalati family of Amravati, his mother Sarita Fadnavis, also a former director of the Vidarbha Housing Credit Society.

The full name of the former CM of Maharashtra is Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis. Fadnavis belong to the Brahmin family. He also studied business management. He was an active member of ABVP during his college days. As an ABVP activist, he worked for grassroots politicians.

Devendra Fadnavis received his early education from the Indira convent, which was named after the then PM Indira Gandhi. In the midst of the emergency, Fadnavis' father, Gangadhar, who was a member of the Jan Sangh, was also jailed for participating in a protest against the government. Fadnavis later refused to continue his studies at Indira Convent, as he did not want to attend a school named after the PM who imprisoned his father. He was transferred to Saraswati School, where he completed his further education.

Devendra Fadnavis, after completing 10 years of schooling, took admission in Dharampeth Junior College for his intermediate. After completing his 12th standard, he took admission in Government Law College, Nagpur, for a 5-year integrated law degree, and graduated in 1992. The former CM of Maharashtra has a master's degree in Business Management and a diploma in Product Management Methods and Techniques from DSE (German Foundation for International Development), Berlin.
