Jaipur: Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge, who is in the race for the post of Congress president, is constantly getting support from senior party leaders. Former CM Digvijay Singh did not file a nomination in his support, while now Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot is also seen standing with him. Gehlot met Mallikarjun Kharge today and then said that his entry into the elections was the right decision.

Ashok Gehlot, while giving a political statement on being out of the race for the post of president and the ongoing doubts about the post of Chief Minister, said that if it's under me, I would not take any post. Sometimes I go to Rahul Gandhi's yatra, sometimes I take to the streets. Today the situation is very bad, but even now if I leave any post, people will say that Ashok Gehlot is running away leaving Congress in trouble. Let me tell you that, a few days ago, Gehlot was fighting to sit together on the chair of Congress President and Rajasthan CM and now after meeting Sonia, his tone seems to have changed.

Gehlot said that I will fulfil the responsibility I get from the high command. What is important for me is that a united opposition of the country is necessary. The countrymen say that it is necessary for the Congress to be strong and for that Rahul Gandhi has left. I am with him. On the offer to resign from the post of Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot said that all this is the creation of the media. I have been saying continuously for 10 days that I have been in positions since the time of Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. So no position is important for me anymore.
