"It's an attempt to divert attention" Gehlot on the arrest of Chidambaram

Jaipur: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Thursday arrested former Finance Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram in an INX media case, saying it was a conspiracy to divert the attention of the common man from the deteriorating economic situation in the country. According to ANI reports, CM Gehlot said, "Leave the idea of providing new employment opportunities. It is now difficult to save people's jobs.

It may be mentioned that the Special Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday sent Chidambaram to CBI custody in the INX media case till August 26. Congress leader Chidambaram was produced before the court on Thursday afternoon. Earlier on Wednesday, he was arrested from his home. Gehlot said, for the first time, people belonging to corporate groups are speaking out against the central government. The employee working in CCD has to commit suicide. On the other hand, the L&T chairman has to speak about the state of the country's economy.

Hitting out at the BJP-led NDA government, Gehlot said he is ruling in the name of nationalism. They are doing their own under the guise of army and religion. He also said that the deteriorating economic system would break the pride of the NDA government. He said those who have given him the majority when the time comes will give him a lesson.
