Chandigarh: After resigning from the Congress party just before the Haryana assembly elections, Ashok Tanwar said that the Congress itself is engaged in making the country Congress-free. Ashok Tanwar further said that there are some people in the Congress who live abroad for 5 years and then they appear immediately. Ashok Tanwar said that people like us are not given a chance and when they get an opportunity, obstacles are created.

Ashok Tanwar said that we have been exploited in the party, we fought for our rights, we hoped that justice would be done to our comrades. He said that he is resigning from the Congress with great grief. He also alleged that 'political assassination' of Rahul Gandhi's close ones is being done. Earlier, Tanwar tweeted on Saturday that he wrote, 'I resign from the primary membership of the party after long deliberations with the party workers and for the good of all Congressmen and the people'.

Let me tell you that Tanwar had been extremely angry since being removed from the post of state Congress unit president last month and this week he had staged a sit-in with his supporters outside the residence of the party's interim president Sonia Gandhi. He accused the party of rigging the candidates for the seats for the elections.
