India started their Asia cup 2022 campaign in a jaw dropping game against Pakistan, which resulted in 1-1 draw. In next match against 2018 Asian games gold medalists Japan, they faced a disastrous defeat by 2-5. 

India now looks keenly to win big against the host Indonesia. A big win still does not guarantee India place in the next round. In fact a lot depends on the match between Japan and Pakistan. As the latter would want Japan to win massively. 

Top four teams of Asia Cup Hockey 2022 including host will qualify for World Cup 2023 as informed by Asian Hockey Federation. Though India has already qualified for World Cup 2023 as they the hosts. Still this tournament is very important as they are testing their bench strength.

The match will be played at GBK sports complex Hockey stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia toady at 5:00 pm IST.
