Guwahati: Like the rest of the country, the infection of the corona is spreading rapidly in Assam. The Assam government has closed Guwahati Medical College after new cases surfaced. A doctor (PG student) has been found corona positive in this medical college. After this, there was a stir and a decision has been taken to close the medical college in a hurry.

Assam Health Minister Dr Hemanta Biswa Sharma has told that the government has decided to close Guwahati Medical College for the next few days for newly infected cases. A PG student corona has been found infected. After this, screening of the people who came in contact with him is going on and the work of sanitizing the medical college is also being done.

Health Minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma said that special arrangements were made for the admitted patients before closing the medical college for new patients. With this, corona samples of the people in contact are being collected. The decision to close the medical college for the present is in everyone's interest. On Thursday, eight new cases of the corona were reported in Assam. After this, the number of confirmed cases in the state has gone up to 53, in which one patient has died so far.
