On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for seeking proof from the Centre regarding the Indian Army's surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in September 2019. "On the anniversary of the Pulwama attack, the opposition has again disrespected our martyrs by questioning the surgical strike," Sarma said on Twitter, sharing a video of Rao's press conference in which he requested proof.

"They have betrayed the army in order to display their commitment to the Gandhi family. My allegiance is to the troops. I don't mind if you abuse me for the rest of your life "The tweet went on to say that On Sunday, Rao remarked, "I'm still seeking for proof today. Let India's government lead the way (the proof). The BJP spreads incorrect information, which is why people demand it."

Since last week, the two CMs have been at odds over the issue of surgical strikes. The squabble began on Friday, when Assam's Chief Minister, speaking at an election rally, stated, "Take a look at these people's mindsets. General Bipin Rawat was the country's pride and joy.
