Guwahati: Citizenship Amendment Bill-2019: Protests against CAB in Assam and Tripura continue on Thursday. Demonstrations took violent forms in many places. On Wednesday, late December 11, 2019, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's residence in Dibrugarh and Duliajan's residence of Union Minister of State Rameshwar Teli were attacked and stoned by protesters. The ramp built at the reception of Japanese PM Shinzo Abe at Hotel Taj in Guwahati was also burnt. Curfew is currently in many districts of Assam. In addition, Internet services have been discontinued in 10 districts. In view of the demonstration, the Tinsukia Division of Assam has canceled many railways.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal appealed to the people, saying, 'I sincerely appeal to all sections of Assam to maintain peace and peace from the people.
