Islamabad: More than a hundred Hindu devotees from many states of India will visit the holy Katas Raj temple complex located in Punjab province of Pakistan on 14 December. The arrival of the devotees is coming after a gap of one year. Syed Faraj Abbas, deputy secretary of the Evacuee Property Trust Board (ETBP) has told the media that, 'Hindu pilgrims will cross the Wagah border on December 13 and reach Katas Raj the next day.' He has told that arrangements have been made for two hundred devotees by the government.

Chakwal Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Abdul Sattar Esani reviewed the arrangements made for the pilgrims at a meeting on Tuesday and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Shiv Pratap Bajaj, the chief organizer of the Katas Raj pilgrimage in the Yamunanagar district of the Indian state of Haryana, told the media over the phone that, "We are very excited, we are coming to visit our holy place after a gap of one year."

Bajaj thanked former Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar for the revival of the sacred pond of Katas Raj. A few years ago this pond dried up due to the burning of cement companies located in Katas Raj area. Nisar had taken the initiative to bring it back to the previous condition. However, now there is water in the pond, but it is being filled with tubewells. Right now it has not come back to its natural condition.
