Guwahati: 14 more patients have died due to corona infection in Asam, raising the death toll to 5,357. 975 new infection cases have been reported in the state, bringing the total number of infected cases to 5,72,546. Out of 975 new cases, 121 have come from Kamrup Metro, 76 from Lakhimpur, 61 from Sonitpur, and 60 from Dibrugarh. At least 1,347 corona patients have died due to other causes in the state, the health department bulletin said.

So far 1,94,18,631 samples have been tested in the state, out of which 1,15,049 samples were tested on Friday. The mortality rate from corona in the state is 0.94 percent and the positivity rate is 0.85 percent. The bulletin said there are currently 10,372 active cases in the northeastern state. In all, 1,266 patients have been discharged, taking the total number of recoverers to 5,55,470. The state has so far vaccinated 1,20,84,028 people with COVID-19. Out of this, 21,11,498 have been given both doses of the corona vaccine.

On the other hand, 38,628 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in India in the last 24 hours, 40,017 recoveries, and 617 people died of the corona. Now the total number of cases has increased to 3,18,95,385. Now there are 4,12,153 active cases in the country. A total of 3,10,55,861 corona patients have recovered so far. Deaths due to infection have reached 4,27,371 in the country. The country has received 49,55,138 corona vaccines in the last 24 hours, with the total immunization figure reaching 50,10,09,609.
