Guwahati: The Government of Assam had launched an online Learner Driving License Portal. Taking advantage of this opportunity, more than 1 lakh people applied for Learner License. The Chief Minister said that after receiving such a huge positive response from the people, the government has decided to start these online driving license renewal and duplicate license issuance services and in this series, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday launched an online Introduced duplicate license services along with driving license renewal.

Launching the services, the Chief Minister hoped that this would save time and energy of those who need a fresh driving license. “Those who want to renew their driving license need not visit the offices of District Transport Officers (DTOs). They can apply from the comfort of their homes. These services will save their time, energy and money. , " she added.

The Chief Minister also said that people can apply for renewal of their driving license in any district other than their home districts. He said, "The DTO will do the digital signature. A resident of Kamrup (M) district can also apply for a driving license at the DTO office of Dima Hasao. All the work will be done digitally. People need not visit the DTO."
