Assam: Jorhat registers zero Covid19 cases out of 493 tests on Sunday

Assam is wreaking havoc in Northeastern states. In a major relief, the Jorhat district for the first time on Sunday registered zero corona cases since the outbreak of the pandemic earlier this year.  The total number of positive cases in the Jorhat district on Sunday remained at 12,223 while the number of active cases was 52 and the total number of Covid19-affected people discharged after the recovery was 12,034.

Jorhat deputy commissioner Roshni A Korati informed on Sunday that out of 493 tests conducted in centres spread over the district, no positive case was found.

 Meanwhile, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet said the new 29 cases were detected out of 10,305 tests in the state. Two more persons died of Covid19 infection in Assam on Sunday, taking the state’s death toll to 1,037 while the positive tally increased to 2,15,939 with the detection of 29 new cases. So far, a total of 2,11,543 positive patients have recovered from the disease. The percentage of recovered patients in Assam is 97.96%.
