Kamrup: A 68-year-old man named Jangsher Ali of Kamrup district of Assam has committed suicide due to lack of name in the NRC list. Ali is a resident of village Champupara under Goraimari Tehsil in Kamrup district. He had been living under depression and stress for many days, then he got fed up with life and died by consuming poison.

Neighbors around him have told the police that Ali's name was in the 1985 and 1989 voter list, but in the Voterlist released in 2005, his name came up as Dasar Ali. To improve this, he dabbed several offices, but even after this, his name was not improved. Because of which his name did not figure in the recently released final NRC list. People close to Ali said that even after giving all the necessary documents, such as after legacy data, etc., Ali's name has been left out of the NRC list.
Let us tell you that the final list of Assam NRC was released on 31 August 2019. In which 3,11, 21, 004 people were included, while 19,06, 657 people were excluded from this list.
