This shows how conscious people are about their future and especially the income after retirement. In view of the popularity of this scheme, the Pension Fund Regulator PFRDA has recommended an increase in the monthly pension received through this scheme. Along with this, it has also been recommended to increase the age limit to join this scheme. People up to 40 years can subscribe to this scheme. PFRDA has recommended increasing this age limit to 60 years.

Recommendation to increase pension ceiling
Under Atal Pension Yojana, after attaining the age of 60, subscribers get pension ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. At present, this amount depends on the subscribers' contribution. According to a report by the news agency PTI, PFRDA's Whole Time Member Supratim Bandhopadhyay has said that the regulator has recommended raising the maximum age limit from 40 years to 60 years to become a subscriber under the Atal Pension Yojana. Along with this, it has been recommended to increase the maximum pension limit from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. "We are asking to increase the subscription age limit from 40 years to 60 years through API," he said. Along with this, they are also asking for raising the pension limit from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

Urge to increase income tax exemption under NPS
Apart from this, PFRDA has also urged the government to increase the income tax exemption under the National Pension System. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority of India (PFRD) operates the National Pension System (NPS). Along with this, Atal Pension also regulates the scheme.
