New Delhi: Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal is in jail in the liquor scam case. During this time, the jail authority has told the court that Kejriwal eats mangoes while behind bars in Tihar Jail. Besides, he has also eaten sweets many times. The jail authority has said that when Kejriwal was brought to jail, he was initially taking insulin but later he himself stopped it. The jail authority has said that the conditions imposed for providing home-cooked food to Kejriwal do not stipulate that he should eat fruits or anything else. Reports say that he is not following the diet, we have also received opinion from AIIMS, according to which he should avoid mangoes. The jail authority said that as per the jail manual, home cooked food cannot be given to the prisoner. Kejriwal has now responded to this claim.
Kejriwal's lawyer calls ED's claim false: In a detailed statement submitted to the court, Kejriwal has also refuted each and every argument of ED against allowing him video consultation with his doctor. The statement claimed that Kejriwal had even been advised to stop insulin injections from February 1 "under careful medical examination". Kejriwal has said that he was then asked to follow a "daily therapy and diet" which also included regular exercise. However, after his arrest, the Chief Minister had said that he was no longer able to follow those rules. Kejriwal's lawyer told the court that "However, since his arrest till date, the applicant has not been given insulin to control his sugar levels.
Meanwhile, AAP has claimed a "conspiracy to murder" the Delhi CM. AAP has claimed that Kejriwal requires insulin twice. On Thursday evening, Kejriwal's party colleague Atishi made the allegation. Alleging that the AAP leader is not being provided the required dose for a patient suffering from severe diabetes, AAP has filed a petition in the court seeking directions to ensure supply of insulin.
Atishi criticizes ED: Reports say Atishi, in a strong statement this week, criticized ED for telling the court that Kejriwal was "regularly consuming food items that are unhealthy for any diabetic patient". Not approved for". He further said about this, "This is a complete lie...Kejriwal ji is allowed to eat tea and sweets with sweetener prescribed by the doctor." Today he reiterated that – the sweets are sugar-free and have been made available only 6 times.
