Attack on a Paris train station leaves at least 6 people hurt

Paris: Man who attacked at least six people early on Wednesday morning at Paris' Gare Du Nord station was shot by police and taken to the hospital.

Gerald Darmanin, the interior minister, wrote on Twitter that "someone injured several people this morning at the Gare du Nord. He was dealt with quickly. I appreciate the police's quick action, which was both brave and effective.

Authorities reported that the alleged attacker was alive and being treated in a hospital. Darmanin stated at a news conference at the station, where he was flanked by armed police officers, that the six injured individuals were also taken to the hospital.

Police responded quickly to the attack, which started at around 6:42 a.m. local time, according to Darmanin. The minister told reporters that the suspect, who didn't seem to say anything before the attack, was shot by police within a minute.

Authorities said they are following up on every lead. Terrorism has not yet been ruled out as a motive, according to the investigators. A weapon has not yet been located by police.
