Attack on “Save the Children” HQ, ISIL took responsibility

Kabul: Barely four-days, after Taliban targeted Afghanistan capital Kabul killing 18 citizens and injured 22 others, one more city in the country, witnessed terrorist attack early on Wednesday morning.

This time terrorist targeted “Save the Children” headquarters, an international non-governmental organisation working in Jalalabad, one of the eastern city of Afghanistan.

At least three persons including a civilian and two security guards were killed after suicide attacker blew a car bomb outside the headquarters of an organisation.

The terrorist organisation the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) took responsibility for the attack via the website.

After Wednesday’s attack, an organisation has decided to suspend its activities in the country until situation normalises and safe to resume work.

According to reports, those who were killed in an attack includes one civilian and two security guards. Apart from that as many 25 citizens were injured in a blast which occurred just outside the headquarters of the international charity organisation in the city early on Wednesday morning.

After an attack, as many 47 people were evacuated from the office building.

Two attackers were gunned down by Afghan security forces and the attackers entered gun battle which lasted for eight long hours.

Wednesday’s attack comes just a few days after a terrorist attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul killing 18 civilians and wounded 22 others.

Taliban took responsibility for that attack, which continued for 16 long hours from the evening of January 20 before all the attackers were killed in a gun battle against security forces.
