Audi has announced that by 2023 it will only be focusing on electric vehicles, implying that it would move over from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles, indicating that it will stop manufacturing internal combustion engines.
Audi India Chief Balbir Singh Dhillon speaking on the announcement said that by 2023 they will stop making current models powered by internal combustion engines and would transition into selling only electric vehicles, he further added that the company will retain the current lineup of vehicles that they sell with internal combustion engines till 2032. This also means that Audi is going to keep selling petrol-powered cars till 2032.
Dhillon also inaugurated Audi’s 17th pre-used car outlet ‘Audi Approved Plus’ in Coimbatore. It is Audi’s 17th out of the 22 outlets scheduled for this year. The current lineup of the auto major in India includes three electric vehicles, the e-Tron priced from 1.01 crores (ex-showroom), the e-Tron GT priced from 1.66 crores (ex-showroom) and the RS e-Tron GT priced from 1.89 crores (ex-showroom). Its lineup of internal combustion engine cars includes the A4 priced from 43.12 lakhs (ex-showroom), the A6 priced from 59.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), the A8L priced from 1.29 crores (ex-showroom), the Q2 priced from 34.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Q5 priced from 59.90 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Q7 priced from 82.49 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Q8 priced from 1.04 crores (ex-showroom), the S5 Sportback priced from 84.23 lakhs (ex-showroom), the RS5 priced from 1.09 crores (ex-showroom), the RS7 priced from 2.24 crores (ex-showroom) and the RS Q8 priced from 2.17 crores (ex-showroom).
