The UK is facing the heat of a new strain of the coronavirus.  The British government warned that a potent new strain of the virus was "out of control". After the UK, Australia said on Monday it had detected cases of the new virulent coronavirus strain identified in the United Kingdom.

According to the report, Two travellers from the United Kingdom to Australia’s New South Wales state were found carrying the mutated variant of covid-19 that is the reason behind the surge in cases in  Britain. Both are in quarantine. However, the authorities said that the recent spike in infections in Sydney are not linked to this.

Many nations have begun to impose travel bans on the UK after it reported a more-infectious and out of control coronavirus variant. Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium were among the first few nations to ban the flights from the UK. India on Monday announced a temporary bans flights from the United Kingdom following the announcement by Britain. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that flights from the UK to India shall remain in suspension till 11:59 pm, December 31.The suspension comes into force at 11.59 pm, December 22, i.e. Tuesday.
