New Delhi: Team India is to visit Australia in November. Cricket Australia has not yet released the schedule for this tour of India. But the Australian tour of the Indian team has already been mired in controversies. Australia has released a possible schedule for this tour.
Looking at this program, it seems that Cricket Australia (CA) has succumbed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Former Australia captain Alan Border has also taken a dig at CA and reprimanded it for preparing the program according to the BCCI, especially the Sydney Test. The Sydney Test is commonly known as the New Year Test, which starts in the first week of January, mainly from January 3 or 4. The time between a Boxing Day Test match (December 26 to 30) and a New Year (January 3 to 7) Test match is three days, but India is demanding a gap of more than a week.
The final Test of the series is to be played in Brisbane from 15 to 19 January. The Brisbane Test ends on 19 January, so the series will clash with the Australian Open, which starts on 14 January. Border resentment on this series matters more because the name of the series is Gavaskar-Border Trophy.
