Australia defeated India in the final match to bag a 3-2 win in the 5-match ODI series against India. After sealing the T20I series 2-0, Australia continued their resurgence in white ball cricket. While the first two ODIs went down the wire before ending in the hosts' favour, the last three saw the tourists better Virat Kohli's men on all fronts.
The legendary Allan Border is of the opinion that it will be difficult for Warner and Smith to automatically bag a spot in the World Cup squad, considering the way the current lot is playing. On this victory Border said, “Given the success of the side at the moment, if they continue to play good cricket against Pakistan with the squad they have at the moment, you’d probably be tempted to keep that lot as is.” He further added, “I think Smith and Warner come back into the squad, but whether they play or not is not a done deal. They need to be playing better than the incumbents to be automatic selections.”
