Lucknow: A witness in the list of witnesses produced by Samajwadi Party (SP) strongman and Rampur MLA Azam Khan, who is undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, did not appear before the court on Wednesday. On this, the court has ended the opportunity of his testimony. The final arguments on the case will now be held on October 15.

A case was registered against Azam Khan for making inflammatory speeches during the Lok Sabha elections in Milak Kotwali. The matter is currently sub judice. The testimony of five witnesses made witnesses in the case has been completed. In this case, the court handed over a list of witnesses in its favour on behalf of the defence. Out of this, the testimony of 5 witnesses has been completed. The next witness for testimony was to be produced in court on Wednesday, but the witness did not come.  

According to the BJP leader's lawyer Sandeep Saxena, an application was made by the defence counsel to defer the hearing, but the court rejected his application. It also ended the opportunity for defence testimony. He said that now the final debate will be held in the court. The date for this has been fixed for October 15.
