New Delhi: The great social worker of the nation and Baba Amte's granddaughter Dr. Sheetal Amte Karajgi committed suicide on Monday. She was 39 years old. She was also the Chief Executive Officer of Maharogya Seva Samiti (Leprosy Seva Samiti) based at Warora. It is being told that he committed suicide in his house in Anandvan. He committed suicide by injecting herself with poison.

After the deterioration, Sheetal Amte was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Sheetal was the daughter of social worker Dr. Vikas Amte and she was reportedly under stress for the past several days. According to the media report, Dr. Sheetal came to Facebook Live on 20 November 2020 and levelled serious allegations against Anandvan's leper service committee, trustees and activists. In this video, she also accused uncle Dr Prakash Amte and his family. However, two hours later she deleted the Facebook Live video. Many speculations were made after his Facebook Live. After this, the Amte family, including Baba Amte's sons Vikas and Prakash Amte, issued a statement and denied all these allegations.

In this statement of the Amte family, it was said that Sheetal is going through mental stress. Due to the depression, she has given inappropriate statements regarding the work of the leper service committee, the trustees and its workers. The family statement said, "All the statements of Sheetal are baseless. Amte family is issuing these statements after discussion among themselves so that their allegations do not create any kind of misunderstanding".
