Kolkata: Babul Supriyo, who quit the BJP and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) amid large-scale political violence in the state after the assembly elections in West Bengal, held an Iftar party along with the Muslim community. He then dismissed the allegations against him, calling it a "communal stamp". He said that earlier he was limited to 70 per cent people, but after joining TMC, he has reached 100 per cent of people.

Babul Supriyo was having an Iftar party with Kolkata Mayor and Minister in the TMC government Firhad Hakim. Babul is the TMC candidate from Ballygunge and had set out to campaign along with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee. Talking to the media after campaigning, Supriyo spoke of equality with Muslims of India and Pakistan. "I am one of the few singers who have done shows in Pakistan.''

The IFTAR party that TMC Babul Supriyo attended in Kolkata, probably had Indian Muslims present at it. During this time, he claimed that he has also sung songs in Pakistan. Babul claimed that only a person can work for the Muslims of India, who has no problem with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Muslims there, who infiltrate into India every day and carry out terrorist attacks and kill civilians, and security personnel.
