Mumbai: The BJP has criticised Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray over the issue of Kashmiri Pandits. BJP General Secretary CT Ravi remembered the late Balasaheb Thackeray and said that Chief Minister Thackeray is not even allowing Kashmiri Pandits to protest. Whereas, his father had helped the pandits. There were allegations that the Pune Police had prevented two Kashmiri Pandits from attending a function related to the Bollywood film 'The Kashmir Files'.
CT Ravi had tweeted, "In 1990, when our Kashmiri Pandits were being evicted from their homes, Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray had tried separately to help them. He further wrote, "Sad that today his son Uddhav Thackeray is not even allowing Pandits to protest. It seems that the Shiv Sena is competing with the Congress to be more secular.''
BJP leader Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga tweeted, "Uddhav Thackeray, Pune Police arrested Rohit Kachroo and other Kashmiri Pandits because they said they were going to protest against the event. They have been kept at kothrud police station on the orders of Uddhav Thackeray. I appeal to Devendra Fadnavis to look into this incident immediately. After that, former Maharashtra CM Fadnavis tweeted, "Another example of how the Thackeray government is quickly in a hurry to join the list of pseudo-seculars. Shockingly, the voice of Kashmiri Pandits is being suppressed in Pune under Uddhav's rule.'' It is really shameful. The BJP leader reported that Rohit Kachroo has been released by the police. "Not only this time, but we will also continue to raise our voice against such injustice meted out to our Kashmiri Pandit brothers every time on behalf of the MVA government.''
