Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel urged the Central Government to take notice of and object to the contentious video showing a procession in Canada's Brampton celebrating the killing of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Speaking in a press briefing, CM Baghel said, "The Government of India should take cognizance of this and raise an objection to this (Khalistani supporters celebrating Operation Blue Star and Indira Gandhi's assassination celebration in Canada)..." He slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that whenever Congress leader Rahul Gandhi travels and speaks overseas, all BJP leaders and ministers begin making statements over it, demonstrating how much bigger and more powerful Rahul Gandhi is than them.

Every time Rahul Gandhi talks, all ministries and leaders listen intently. The BJP's entire cabinet begins speaking. This indicates that Rahul Gandhi is taller than them," he said.

From January 1966 until March 1977 and again from January 1980 till her murder in October 1984, Indira Gandhi was India's first and only female prime minister. On October 31, 1984, she was fatally murdered by two of her own bodyguards at her official apartment. The space that is given to separatists, according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, is a deeper underlying issue that "is not good for relationships." He expressed his concern over the reports.

"I believe there is a larger issue at play...We honestly don't know why anyone would do this, other from the demands of vote-bank politics...I believe there is a deeper underlying problem with the airtime given to separatists, extremists, and pro-violence individuals. In answer to a question regarding rumours of the late PM Indira Gandhi's assassination celebration in the Canada city, Jaishankar stated, "I think that is not healthy for partnerships, not good for Canada.

Cameron MacKay, the High Commissioner for Canada in India, spoke out against the commemoration of the death of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi earlier in the day. MacKay said, he is "appalled" by allegations of a Canadian gathering that honoured the murder of Indira Gandhi.

"Reports of a Canadian event honouring the murder of the late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi disgust me. Hatred and the exaltation of violence have no place in Canada. In a tweet, he stated, "I categorically oppose these behaviours.

The glorification of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's killers during the march has also drawn harsh criticism from Congress.
