By-Election: BSP to contest on all 8 seats in UP

Lucknow: Political equations are now changing in view of the by-elections. BSP decided to contest on all the eight assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. People to witness a rhythm of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the bye-election in the state. The BSP has announced to contest on all the eight UP seats. However, earlier the BSP didn't use to contest by-election but has started fielding candidate since last year.

It may be noted that by-elections are due in eight assembly constituencies of the state. The election will be held on the Ghatampur, Malhani, Swar, Bulandshahr, Tourdla, Deoria, Bangarmau and Naugawan Sadat assembly seats. Out of the eight seats in up where bye-elections are proposed, six are occupied by the BJP and two Samajwadi Party (SP). Even though the poll results of these seats do not make any difference to the majority in the assembly. But the forthcoming assembly elections will be seen as a big political message.

That is why BSP supremo Mayawati has been in the exercise of contesting by-elections on all the eight seats in Uttar Pradesh. The BSP has nothing to lose, as it did not have a single seat in the assembly. The SP and Congress have also been in action mode for the by-election. The Congress has also constituted a committee to select candidates for all the eight seats on Wednesday.
