On Wednesday, Maharashtra minister and state Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat said that the angry MLA Sangram Thopte has been persuaded for not being made a minister. Thorat also dismissed reports of displeasure in the Congress for the post of minister. Congress leader Thorat told reporters that not everyone can be made a minister as there is a three-party coalition government in the state. He said, "I spoke to Sangram Thopte last night. Congress is a family and they will get their dues. The Congress leader said that since there is a coalition government of three parties, we have got fewer ministerial posts."

The supporters of Congress MLA Thopte had attacked the party office in Pune on Tuesday in protest against not making him a minister. Police also arrested 19 Thopte's supporters in the case late on Tuesday, who were later released on bail. He also dismissed reports of outrage over the ministerial division within the party. He said that discussions are going on and today the division of departments can be announced.
