Islamabad: The same terrorists who were sheltered and nurtured by the neighbouring country Pakistan have now given a painful death to an Army officer of Pakistan. The body of Colonel Laik Baig Mirza, a military officer who was abducted a week ago in Pakistan, was found lying on a highway in Balochistan province on Thursday. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the killing. Let us know that it was declared a terrorist organization by the US in 2019.

Col. Laik Baig Mirza along with his family had set out on a visit to Ziyarat, the capital of Balochistan. After this, the terrorists kidnapped them. However, during this time, the terrorists did not cause any harm to the family of Colonel Baig. Mirza had left Karachi for Ziyarat with his family on the Eid holiday. Balochistan Chief Minister Quddus Bijenjo said the culprits will be severely punished and Mirza's family will get justice. Not only this, he said that the security forces have also launched an operation in search of those involved in the killing of Colonel Mirza. According to the Pakistan Army, a group of 10-12 terrorists were involved in Mirza's kidnapping. Soon after, the army activated the Quick Reaction Force. Not only this but helicopters have also been deployed in search of the terrorists.

Let us know that the security forces had seen 6-8 terrorists near the mountains on Wednesday night. It is believed that these terrorists, sensing the possible danger, killed Lt Col. Laik Baig Mirza and tried to escape. After this, the security forces opened fire, in which two terrorists were killed. While the rest of the terrorists along with colonel Mirza's cousin managed to escape.

What is The Baluchistan Liberation Army:-

Let us tell you that, by size, Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan, but being a barren mountainous area, it is the smallest state in the country in terms of population. Even when India was divided into two pieces, the Baloch people had demanded a separate country for themselves, but they were not listened to then. Balochistan is believed to have been struggling for its independence for more than 70 years. Many separatist groups of Balochistan are fighting for this freedom, but the largest and most influential organization is the Balochistan Liberation Army. It was formed in the 70s. It was first led by Balach Marri, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2007, after which the BLA intensified its activities. Now the command of this organization is in the hands of Bashir Jeb Baloch.
