Get ready, commuters! Starting next Monday, the toll fees on the Bangalore - Mysuru highway are set to go up. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced this increase, which will affect both single and return journeys for motorists. Here's a breakdown of the revised rates and other important details you should know:

Increased Charges for Cars

If you're driving a car, be prepared to shell out an extra Rs 10 for both single and return trips on the Bangalore - Mysuru access-controlled highway. This means that for a single journey, you'll now pay Rs 320, and for a return journey within the same day, it'll be Rs 485.

Details from NHAI Notification

NHAI has provided specifics on the revised toll charges for different segments of the highway. For example, for the Bangalore - Nidaghatta stretch, car owners will now pay Rs 170 for a one-way trip and Rs 255 for a return journey. Additionally, monthly passes for 50 single journeys will cost Rs 5,715.

Impact on Other Vehicles

It's not just cars facing the hike; owners of LCV/LGV/Minibuses will now pay Rs 275 for a single journey and Rs 415 for a return trip. Meanwhile, trucks and buses will see their toll charges increase to Rs 580 for a one-way journey and Rs 870 for a return journey.

Previous Changes and Revisions

This isn't the first time toll fees have been adjusted on this highway. NHAI had earlier raised the toll charges in June 2023, bringing them to Rs 165 for single journeys and Rs 250 for return trips. The tolls for the Bangalore - Nidaghatta stretch were initially Rs 135 for one-way trips and Rs 205 for returns.

Revisions for Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR)

Even the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) isn't spared from these revisions. Within just five months of its opening, toll charges have been increased. For car owners, a single journey will now cost Rs 80, while a return journey on the same day will be Rs 120. Monthly pass rates have been adjusted to Rs 2,720.

What's Next?

NHAI plans to start toll collection on the newly opened STRR stretch from Dabaspet to Doddaballapur after the state's Lok Sabha elections. It's worth noting that toll fee revisions are a common occurrence at the beginning of a financial year and will impact 50 toll plazas in Karnataka.

So, if you're a frequent traveler on the Bangalore - Mysuru highway or the Satellite Town Ring Road, be sure to factor in these revised toll charges for your upcoming journeys!
