The chief executive officer of Bangladesh Cricket Board Nizamuddin Chowdhury has told that for the two-test series the Australian cricket team can do a tour to Bangladesh. It is expected that the test matches will be played in Dhaka in August and September.

In 2006, the Australia last played their Test match in Bangladesh and in 2015 the test tour was postponed by Australia. In 2016 also theAustralia did not send a team to the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in early 2016.

To see through the security arrangements Sean Carroll, Cricket Australia's head of security, had visited Bangladesh in October.
