New Delhi: BCCI chief and former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has been found infected with corona. Sourav Ganguly, 49, has been admitted to Woodland Hospital in Kolkata, with doctors constantly monitoring him. The news is worrying amid the growing crisis of corona's new Omicron variant. Earlier in the year too, Sourav Ganguly had to be admitted to the hospital due to ill health.

Sourav Ganguly suffered a heart attack in January 2021, after which he had to be admitted to the hospital for a few days. Sourav Ganguly then had angioplasty twice a month. However, after that, he had recovered and were constantly working. Fans on social media have wished him a speedy recovery soon after news of the BCCI chief being infected with corona came to know.

Recently Sourav Ganguly has been constantly in the news these days when there was a controversy over the captaincy in the Indian team. Some time ago, when Virat Kohli was removed from the captaincy of the ODI team, Sourav Ganguly made a statement that he had asked Virat not to give up the T20 captaincy, but he refused. The selectors then decided to make the same captain in the White Ball format. However, Virat Kohli had said in a press conference that no one had asked him not to give up the captaincy.
