BCCI contemplates over holding a mini IPL in September

The Borad of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) is contemplating over holding a mini-Indian Premier League (IPL) in the month of September. Most of the Test nations are not involved in series in September, which has prompted the BCCI to think of a mini IPL.

The board though, will have to avoid competition from the International Cricket Council (ICC), which is also looking to hold an international T20 tournament during the same period.

Ever since the scrapping of the loss-making T20 Champions League, BCCI has been eyeing the September slot and even last year it was keen to hold a mini-IPL, involving all its existing franchises, but the plan was postponed after a number of internal conflicts and legal battles as well.

If the plan goes ahead, cricketers all around the world will be busy with another mega competition, while cricket fans can enjoy the thrills and spills of another tournament.
