New Delhi: India managed to win the Test series 2-1 on the Australian tour. But team India also faced a lot of trouble due to the injury of star players like Ashwin, Bumrah on the tour. Taking a cue from the Tour of Australia, BCCI has now put up a big challenge to pass a new fitness test for the players. Players will have to pass a time trial before the England tour. For India, the yo-yo test will be applicable as before.

BCCI has applied the time trial test to players who have a contract with the board. It is very important for all players with contracts to pass this test. The speed of the players will be checked through the Tyne Trial Test. Fast bowlers will have to complete a distance of 2 kilometers in the time trial test in 8 minutes 15 seconds. For spin bowlers and other players, a rule has been made to complete a distance of 2 kilometers in 8 minutes 30 seconds. At the same time, players will have to score 17.1 in the Yo-Yo Test.

The players who were a part of the Test series in Australia have been exempted from undergoing the test in February but those who will be selected for the limited-overs series would be required to clear the test.
